Go to the end of Canada and turn left – seriously! We are located one block from the Pacific terminus of the Trans Canada highway. When you reach the last intersection turn left and find us on the Pacific Ocean waterfront.
By Bus
Getting to Tofino Hostel by bus is easy and convenient with reliable services connecting you to Vancouver Island.
We recommend Island Link Bus for its year-round availability and reliability.
From Vancouver
Take the transit bus from Vancouver to the BC Ferries Horseshoe Bay terminal. Board the BC Ferries to Bus Depot Departure Bay (Nanaimo). When you arrive in Nanaimo, take the Vancouver Island Connector bus to Tofino (the bus will be parked in front of the Departure Bay terminal). Once you reach Tofino, get off at CO-OP parking lot. From there, it’s a 5-minute walk to the hostel.
From Victoria or Nanaimo

HI-Vancouver Hostels
Bus transportation is available from downtown Vancouver to the ferry at Horseshoe Bay by transit buses. Please ask the hostel staff for assistance.
By Car
Take BC Ferries to Nanaimo, from either the Horseshoe Bay or the Tsawwassen terminal. Once on Vancouver Island, head north along the Island Hwy. Take Hwy #4 to Port Alberni, Ucluelet, and on to Tofino. When you get to the junction at the coast, the highway splits to Tofino or Ucluelet. Turn right toward Tofino and proceed 35km into town. Once you arrive in Tofino continue to First Street where you will make a right turn, then take the first left turn onto Main Street, and proceed down the hill to the guesthouse. Parking is limited and not guaranteed, so please call ahead if you’d like to reserve a parking space. Parking is $5/day.
By Bike
Follow the “By Car” instructions to Port Alberni. From Port Alberni, proceed along Hwy #4, a gruelling cycle over the mountains, to the junction where the highway splits to Tofino or Ucluelet. At the junction turn right towards Tofino, and enjoy the final 35 km trip into town. Once you arrive in Tofino continue to First Street where you will make a right turn, then take the first left turn onto Main Street, and proceed down the hill to the hostel.
From Seattle
Follow Hwy #5 north and take the ferry from Seattle or Port Angeles on to Victoria, then see instructions above. Or, continue north across the border and then take the ferry from Tsawassen to Swartz Bay or from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. Once in Canada, see directions above depending on your mode of transportation. Once you get to Tofino, you’ll find us at 81 West Street, right at the foot of Main Street just 2 blocks from restaurants, shopping and services.
